The events during the Covid 19 pandemic have posed a major risk to the existence of VSLAs by altering their existing processes, making it impossible for groups to meet (at least for 4 months during which the Government of Uganda had imposed a lockdown). The 500 VSLAs that utilized the app were eventually unable to conduct meetings or utilize the app during the Covid 19 times because the app was initially designed to support the group to keep track of its cash transactions without the option to process cashless transactions.
